Updates at Hiawatha will address the building's pressing needs to keep students safe, warm, and dry. Highlights include a new secure entry vestibule to direct all visitors into the office while managing hallway access throughout the day.
The site will also see important updates, including a reconfigured parent drop-off/pick-up loop to improve traffic safety and efficiency. The current playground will receive new equipment, and the current playfields would be redesigned.
The district is reviewing the scope of the entire 2022 bond as we focus on the costs of our major projects and the escalation of inflation and supply costs. During this review, we will be prioritizing health, safety, and student impact as we work to meet as many needs as possible.
